Interns work with associates and partners of The Jacobson Firm, P.C. who instruct the participants in all facets of a general practice law firm, including wills, corporate law, and certain family law issues, as well as all legal issues pertaining to the entertainment business.
Interns will learn the basics of legal practice and gain valuable hands-on legal experience by corresponding with clients, and reviewing, analyzing, and drafting legal documents and contracts.
In addition, interns at The Jacobson Firm, P.C. will explore the areas of copyright and trademark law in depth, and will learn to use the new electronic trademark and copyright systems, which are used to file trademarks and copyrights, as well as to prosecute all trademark and copyright claims. Additionally, while working with The Jacobson Firm, P.C., interns are instructed on all aspects of the entertainment business, ranging from simple copyright and trademark law to the complex review of entertainment business agreements and litigation.
Participants in this program may be required to do extensive legal research and legal writing. Such research may be done on premises, in designated areas, or in approved law libraries.
